ECHINACEA
Commonly known as coneflower, Echinacea is found growing
as a wildflower in the prairies, the Midwest states and as far
south as Texas. Echinacea is best known for its immune
enhancing ability, but has proven very effective in many other
areas as well.
Native Americans used an infusion of powdered leaves and
roots as a wash for sore mouths, gums, throat, and painful
necks. Echinacea was also used by Native Americans as a
remedy for snake bites, to treat infections, and as an effective
anti-inflammatory for wounds and burns.
