These sculptures represent petroglyph designs created by members of
prehistoric peoples in what is now the Southwestern US. Their art dates
back from 600 to 2100 years ago. Rock was used as "canvas" and was
chiseled or pecked away to create these designs. Unfortunately,
petroglyphs are disappearing due to weather, theft and vandalism. By
rendering these designs in metal, we have found a way to preserve this
art and allow people to enjoy and appreciate it now and going forward.
Recreated in 3/16' steel with rusted patina finish and clear coat
lacquer. Every effort has been made to replicate the designs as they
appear on the rocks where they were created.
