River Trading Post welcomes Tanner Jensen into our family of fine artists. Tan-
ner’s powerful images of horses are thought-provoking and inspiring, evoking a
power, strength and gentleness that is rarely captured.
Tanner’s love for horses has inspired her work. She
“When I was a child, all I wanted was to be around horses.
I wanted to ride them, watch them, smell them. I wanted to
know everything about horses. I also wanted to paint, to be
an artist. Decades later, it's still all that I want to do.
“Painting is a journey. It's a discovery. I want to be engaged
in the adventure and I want to arrive at a place I have never
been to before, and I want the viewer to join me.”
Tanner graduated with a BFA from the University of
Arizona and earned her MFA from Eastern Colorado
In that Tanner Jensen is not Native American, she represents a departure in some
respects to our traditional Native American exclusivity. Yet her work fits beauti-
fully into our collection, and speaks directly to the hearts of River Trading Post
Tanner’s work is featured at River Trading Post, Scottsdale.
