River Trading Post, Scottsdale

will celebrate its 5th wonderful

year with a move to a new

home in the heart of the Scotts-

dale arts district.

The summer will see the archi-

tects architecting and the

builders building at 7033 East

Main Street in Scottsdale, with

a target move date of Septem-

ber.

While our home will be new,

the warmth that our visitors

have come to know at River

Trading Post won’t change a

bit.

River Trading Post, Santa Fe,

again becomes one of the most

festive places to visit during the

Santa Fe Indian Market.

The celebration kicks off at our

old adobe house on Thursday

evening, August 16 at 6pm with

the annual artists reception,

that includes great food, and

live music.

As you browse through our five

gallery rooms, you will have the

opportunity to meet and chat

with the most impressive group

of artists anywhere in Santa Fe.

This year you will meet several

artists that have achieved the

acclaimed IACA Artist Of The

Year Award including, Cliff

Fragua, Jemez Pueblo; Amelia

Joe-Chandler, Navajo; and

Shane Hendren, Navajo.

Other “A” list artists you will

meet include potters Caroline

Carpio, Noreen Simplicio and

Jeff Roller; Kachina doll

carvers Ramson Lomatewama,

Ed Seechoma and Philbert

Honanie.

At this year’s celebration, River

Trading Post will be serving up

some tasty items created by

Santa Fe’s famous Cowgirls

Hall Of Fame Restaurant, and

live entertainment by

Southern

Tribe,

a traditional drum group

that features artist Andy Abeita.

The celebration will continue

through Sunday, August 19

with artists demonstrating the

creation of their work and dis-

cussing the age old traditions

expressed through their art.

Be sure to drop in during your

Santa Fe visit.
